how do i use a product template? - Most of my products are pretty similar...

Hi,

Most of my products are pretty similar - they are shirts. Some have a few more attributes and few more attribute options then others, but the bulk of the info is the same. ( same material info, sizing info, etc, need for 2 images...)

How would you approach setting up 30+ shirts (products) like this? Do i use a product template ( is there such a thing? )?

Bump....i am still unsure the best way to move forward in making use of a template for my products. Almost all of the description , price, attributes are the same between products ( shirts ) so a template to start off all new products, and also a centralised location to make changes to the shared text would be good.

Am I missing something or a good add-on to achieve this?

There's no such thing as a 'product template' so I'm not really sure what you're asking. If you add products, the product info pages will all display the same.

It looks like you have your products set up already, anyway.

If the issue is that you have product descriptions that are the same from product to product, you could use this:

to save some time, but it doesn't sound like you have enough products to bother.

If you have a lot of products that are similar, set up one (or set up a dummy product) and copy it for each additional product, changing title and other information as needed. A dummy product is the closest you can get to a product template.
