zone rates configuring by price and not weight

I started out with the zone rate configured by price then to fix another issue I changed it to weight so I could multiply my cost by the correct percentage to calculate shipping as this is how I am charged. This way the bottom line price of shipping would not be affected when using group pricing as if I used a percentage of retail price it would affect my shipping. Anywhoo....

When I changed the settings to configure by weight it is continuing to figure by price. What can I do to fix this?

Could you go to the Modules ... Shipping ... and click on Zone Rates zones and post what is in the right panel?

Yes because I'm using my "weight" field to calculate my shipping based off of my cost. I had originally done it off of retail value but it decreases the shipping cost when I added the group pricing add on. That's when it went wrong - it won't change from calculating price to calculating from the weight field.

I did add numbers (my cost) to the weight field in the product edit area.

When you say it is not working, what is not working?

What are you expecting on the Shipping Costs?

What are your Settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

If you want to use Weights then make sure your Maximum Weight is as high as your Highest weight ...

If you do not want to add more to the Weight, be sure to set your Tare Rates to 0:0 ...
