3rd party template - Watermelon, slightly modified

Sorry, this is a newbie question. I have tried the wiki and the FAQ and wading through the threads but no obvious fix springs out.

Very simple problem:

I create a 15% discount on a sub category, no start or finish dates (in case it is a DD/MM/YYYY - MM/DD/YYYY problem) and get a green light. Look at the products expecting to see red prices but prices still as before. Change to classic template, still no sign of discount prices.

The products have been imported into the database from a dropshippers set of data supplied as a *.sql set of data.

I have moved things around to place various sub categories under main categories that I have created myself. The sale subcategory is the master for the products - they are not linked from another subcategory.

Is there a *.php file that should be in the Watermelon template folders or a wee bit of code that needs adding?
