Default Replacing Main Page Center Define Area Image

    I am using zen-cart-v1.3.9f-full-fileset-08142010.
I am 65 years of age and decided 18 months ago to do a part time IT course in Web Site Design. My project is to develop an online shop site for a book shop using xampp and a localhost for my data base. I have customised the site to the extent that I have changed the colours of all the borders of the boxes and given them a background colour and chaged the heading color to some thing a little brighter than the dirty greenish vignette.

I am now at the stage of customising the Define Page Area and have successfully removed the Custom Text Area and the text at the bottom of the area starting with 'This content is.........'.

I now want to remove the 'Have you got yours yet?' and image of book panel which is all in one .gif with another panel which I have made up called home_center.jpg.

How do I go about changing the original image with mine? I thought that all I would have to do is to replace the code for the .gif with my .jpg but all I get when I open the Main Page is a red cross in a box and when I check the path for the image with right click>prperties the path seems to be correct. I made my changes on the define_main_page.php.

Where am I going wrong? Can anyone assist me please?

If you are still using xampp have you placed your new image in the same folder location as the old one?

Yes I have Rob. It's in the Images that appears when you open up the zen-cart site. The image I want to replace is "e-start-book.gif" and mine is "home_main.jpg" and they are both in the same folder.

    Rob, problem solved.
I don't know how I did it but I had a space in the front of the new image name. Must've had a finger resting on the space bar when I started typing. Not my forte.

Thanks for your interest in my problem.
