Shipping Label Printing Support?

Hi
I've done a bit of searching on the issue, but haven't found much.
What is the simplest and best way to print shipping labels?
This must be a very common question, surely?

Is there an add-in module that adds a "print label" button and lets you print shipping labels directly from the order or packing slip page?
I don't want to buy a label printing machine until I know it works seamlessly with ZenCart. Surely there must be a module that supports a popular Dymo label machine or something?

Or is it simply easier to highlight and cut'n'paste into a label printing program?

How do others print labels? Surely I must be one of few people who actually still hand write labels? So I'm assuming label printing solutions are fairly trivial?

(BTW, is there a central place to download "add-on" modules for zencart?)

I'm in Australia if that matter, so preferably support for a machine I can just buy locally.

Personally I copy and paste directly into my dymo software.

If you use the shortcut

CTRL + C for copy
CTRL + V for paste

it is a quick and easy solution.


I use the Dymo 99014 labels and also add a return address to it, saves having to have 2 labels.

If you like I can send you a screenshot of my setup


BTW this method saves a ton of time, the labelwriter is a lifesaver.

BTW a google search shows there was at one point a module for zencart and also something about firefox plugins, maybe look into those if you dont want to copy & paste.

OK, so the consensus seems to be cut't'n'paste?
How many others use cut'n'paste.
I know all about the shortcuts to do that etc, I just figured that since this is such a basic requirement for any shopping cart program, I figured support for it would be either built in or readily available as module? At least support for one or two models of popular label printers?

Looks like I'll get a Dymo 400 printer!

Why is something this basic not included in ZenCart itself?

Ah, that one is 2008 vintage.
Anyone know if it still works? And if it works with the newer Dymo 450 label printer?

Any other similar plugins available?
This is a need everyone must have, surely?

I've been looking at something similar to this.

I'm doing a small site for a take-away/fast food place. Basically I'm trying to write a script that once the order process is complete, will send an email to the shops email address, which can then be set to print automatically from Outlook.

Sounds mighty simple BUT the output is to a label printer which has a media only 62mm wide.

I've been working using two of the add-on modules currently available as reference. These are the sms on sale and the packing slip on sale.

Not having much luck at the moment but if I get it working i'll be sure to post it.
