Default Slow Parse Time / Query Time

I almost hate to post this as a new thread, but I am not sure if there are various reasons why Parse Time and Query Time can be "too high" and I would like to see if anyone can help me pinpoint what the issue may be in this particular case...

We have been having various degrees of this issue for a few months now. Sometimes these numbers are "acceptable", but too often they look like this...

    (today)
    Parse Time: 10.694 - Number of Queries: 218 - Query Time: 8.0347495465698
    (five minutes later)
    Parse Time: 10.786 - Number of Queries: 159 - Query Time: 8.0847558500824
    (fifteen minutes later)
    Parse Time: 6.509 - Number of Queries: 162 - Query Time: 5.9013593571625

    URL: www.bhjdynamics.com

    Zen Cart version 1.3.7
    Database: MySQL 4.1.20

I have the parse times displayed at the bottom of the page, in the same color as the background, so if anyone wants to have a look, simply highlighting the area below the copyright info will display it.

    Thank you for any feedback!

Those numbers mean your database is severely undertuned or underpowered.

And, you REALLY need to upgrade your site to the latest version.

    Thank you DrByte!

I have been putting-off the upgrade due to time constraints, but realize it needs to be done. It is going on the schedule today. Thank you very much for the feedback.

I seem to have gained a very good amount of speed in a short amount of time, simply by making the changes (that apply to our website) which are outlined in the "How do I speed up my site?" tutorial:
    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=21

DrByte, What is the ballpark ETA of the full release of 1.5?

Depending on how close or far it is and considering what I seem to have picked up from the changes mentioned above, I may just gather my things in anticipation of 1.5, instead of going to 1.3.9 right away for a short amount of time, then going to 1.5.

    Thank you again

    Update:

Today, in the attempt to improve performance before upgrading to the latest version of ZC, I converted the original SQL4 database to a SQL5, per the post below, which covers running SQL5 with version 1.3.7:

Everything is running well in the cart and admin areas.

    Cheers,
