Problem with Sidebox

I have installed the Zencart version 1.39h classic. The first problem I have is that I am not able to get the sidebox "Manufactures" to show up. I have done everything in the Layout Bix control and all, but still that one sidebox doesn't seem to show up for some reason. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what I might be able to do or undo please?

Do you have any manufacturers set up? Are they linked with any products?

Your site doesn't have any products. Until you have products it won't recognise their manufacturers.

Exactly - - No need to show an empty sidebox
