Importing Customer Information, multi-site

Hi, I've been searching this forum for how to transfer my customers from one zen cart installation to another on the same server. I'm using the multi-site module and the database I am exporting from is in a sub-domain that has 500 customers. The database I am importing into is in the primary domain that has 41 customers. The passwords in both databases are encrypted.

My concern is with passwords.

It seems that from the posts below by Dr. Byte that I can not simply move encrypted passwords. They will not work in the new database. Does that mean I will have to ask all of the customers that I move to re-register with "Forgot My Password"?

Before I do it this way, I thought I should check to see if I'm understanding this correctly and/or if someone has a simpler solution.

Just a thought. I've just tried copying the tables from the old database to the new database and that seems to be working. In other words, I first renamed the existing customer tables in the new database to "customer1" and so on. Then I copied the customer tables from the old database to the new database with their regular names. (Now i have tables, customer, customer1, customer_info, customer_info1, etc). I did this for all the customer tables. I now have my 500 customers from the old database in the new database. I can see their order history and all their info. I also tried logging in to my account with my "old" password and the password works. This will save me a lot of time because now I only have to import the 41 customers that are in the original "new" database and only 41 of my customers will need to reset their password (if that is necessary).

I hope this is a good solution. If any of you experienced Zenners think I'm goofy for doing it this way, please let me know. I am open to suggestions.

I spoke too soon. When I go to edit a customer's record, the customer's information is not there. The information is in the database, but not in the admin section when I go to edit a customer's info.

I left out the address_book table. Working now.
