Admin Page Alert after Admin Dir name change

After I changed the configuration.php files to use the new admin folder name and changed the actually forlder name.I get the following page.

It seems your editor has damaged the configure.php file.
Undo the edits and redo them using a more reliable editor, such as Notepad++ http://notepad-plus.sf.net

I have the same notification now on my Admin page (as shocker posted) following the admin directory name change and configure.php edits - BUT admin was working for several hours after these changes, and the System Setup Required page only showed up later, spontaneously.

I had followed the Admin directory change instructions to the letter, and reread them to make sure

My new admin directory is a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, and numbers, as instructed (although elsewhere I later read that Uppercase is not a good idea...)

Let's pretend the admin directory is now called 111aaaAAA:

The 3 changed lines in /111aaaAAA/includes/configure.php now look like:

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/zencart/111aaaAAA/');
define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', 'd:/inetpub/sites/www.lcsci.com/web/zencart/111aaaAAA/');

One more fact about the file changes process: FileZilla would not let me set permissions or edit/delete the zencart files, so I had to ask my server host to set the permissions from their end when performing these changes.

Is there any reason for the Admin to seemingly spontaneously stop working and generate that System Setup Required page?

Spontaneously? As in triggered by no cause whatsoever? No.
But, if something gets changed, either inside that file, or in other files/folders on your site, either by you or by someone else, then that message will certainly appear, along with the reasons why it's appearing.
