Help required please - multiple images on product pages

Is that a typo?

Images should have permissions of 644 and you don't need to change them as your FTP program will automatically use the correct permissions, as mandated by the Server.

If I don't change them to 744 they do not show up, I can't explain why) I seem to be doing what is suggested but my extra images are not showing up. All I have to do is name them base_01, ftp to the images folder and they just automatically show up? Is this correct?

Correct. They all need to be the same image type (.jpg, .gif, .png). Can we see your site to maybe understand what is going wrong?

What do you have for admin > Catalog > Product Types > Product-General > edit layout > Show Product Additional Images?

Your Boxed Sets have thumbnails visible in the product listing, but nothing is even trying to display on the product info page.

What is the full exact filename of one of your images? (Base and all its associated larger or additional images.) What I see in your view source indicates files with no extension (.jpg, etc.) which is not going to work right.
