    Default Problems with Sercurty Certificate

    Hello,

I'm using v 1.3.9h with the default PayPal Express module.

A customer uses a WINXP computer with Internet Explorer 8.

When using the Express Checkout with Paypal, he will be directed to a page informing that there is a problem with the securíty certificate on this website. When the client proceed, it says "We were not able to precess your order. please try again, select an alternate payment method, or ...."

Please help. Paypal is the only payment method I can offer at this moment. So it is very urgent.

Either you don't have an SSL certificate installed, or it's not been installed properly for your domain.

And that's most likely while Paypal (and other payment gateways if you had them) don't want to play nicely with your site. They're generally a bit unhappy about sending transaction-related information in plain text.

Talk to your web host about getting an SSL certificate.

From outside of your site, I can only see that I can't make a secure connection in any browser, and would expect that Paypal would have the same problem when it tries to communicate with your host.

If you're saying that you do have an SSL certificate and under some circumstances you can make a connection, then that would suggest that it's not configured properly.

Either way the people to speak to are your web hosts, as from outside your server we can only make guesses based on what we see, whereas they have access to your server and a ton of info that we can't see.
