Product CSV Export via PhpMyAdmin ?

Hi I need some clear instructions on how to export the products from my store as a CSV using phpmyadmin.

I can see the 'Products_Description' row listed (which I believe contains the product info?) but I am unsure how to export it on it's own (as apposed to a full DB backup using the 'Export' tab.

Any help gratefully received

In PHP MY admin export it as a CSV is all..... Then before importing make sure you backup your database.

Hi

That's the bit I cant figure out! - Looking at the list of tables i do not know how to select/open the products on their own and then export them.

I am just not sure where to click / which icon to select /which checkbox to tick and what the following steps are.

Select export. select export method custom (older versions of phpmyadmin does not have this button)

you should see a list of the tables, press down ctrl and click on "products", "products_description" and if you want categories also add "products_to_categories" and "categories_description"

change format to csv

check put column names in the first row and you should be good to go

Ok - so I needed to be on the Export page of course - i didnt see the list of table rows that you could select...

If you only want the product names to be exported then the fastest way to do that is by sql query.

Press the SQL button from top of the phpmyadmin

type on the query field "SELECT products_name FROM products_description ORDER by products_name ASC"

scroll to the bottom of the page and there should be a small export button where you should be able to export just the product names to a CVS.
