Default 1.3.7 Admin page refuses login after server upgrade

My host upgraded their servers this afternoon. This included new mySQL server addresses, new DNS nameservers, upgrade to PHP 5.2.17, mysqld 5.0.67, phpMyAdmin 3.4.4, and other software I don't use. They automatically went in to the FTP server, backed up the files and changed the mySQL IP addresses to the new ones. I doublechecked with WinMerge and these were the only changes I could find.

For the first hour or so, I couldn't access the Zencart Admin login page. Then it came alive.

Now, when I enter the correct username/password and press enter, it comes back with the same login page, but the username and password I just typed is gone. Entering an incorrect username and password returns the standard login error message. This behavior is present with both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

So, as of now, I can't access the Admin pages.

    I believe I'm running 1.3.7.

Forgot to add, the exact same behavior is present when a customer tries to log in through the store front.

They are returned to the previous screen, as if they never attempted to log in.

As the problem was created by the Hoster it would make sense to contact them about any issues. They know better than anyone, how the changes they made will affect your site.

The reason I posted here is because the upgraded mySQL db and PHP works fine with a discussion board also hosted by them, on the same server.

Does this sound like something on their end? I'm all ears if you have a suggestion.

Your inability to login is symptomatic of PHP Session Problems ... which were probably created by changes to the server's PHP configuration.

Also, your version of Zen Cart is close to 5 years old. Tons of bugs have been fixed since then, including specific compatibility with newer versions of PHP, as well as fixes to VERY SERIOUS security problems. You should be upgrading ASAP.
