CSS width x height frustration

I cannot seem to figure out how to change the length x width of the background images in the CSS for the left column boxes (like the category box/information box etc) and the main page box. I just installed the web-developer and still cannot figure it out. Can someone alleviate my frustration with this.

Are you wanting to change the dimensions of the elements that have the background-images, or the size/proportions of the images themselves? You cannot alter the size of CSS background images; you need to make images the exact pixel size you want to use.

Guess that is why I could not figure it out. I do want to change the CSS background image itself. Can't show the site b/c it is on a local host, but am using the Smooth Green free Zencart template for a start point. I changed the green image rectangles on the left column, which in the template are shorter then I would want. Thanks for the information!

Re your question, Smart Backgrounds is made for switching backgrounds or other styling on various elements depending on what page/category/etc. is active. It does not deal with changing the characteristics of any particular image.
