define pages editing wrong tpl main page

When I try and edit the main_page from admin it edits /includes/languages/english/html_includes/theme277/define_main_page.php

when the file it needs to edit is includes/templates/theme277/common/tpl_main_page.php

How do i redirect admin to the correct file?

/includes/languages/english/html_includes/theme277/define_main_page.php

IS the correct page.
If you are trying to edit main text that comes after

<div id="" class="content">Define your main Index page copy here.</div> --> <div id="indexDefaultMainContent" class="content">

that is the place to do it.
If you are trying to change overall layout of the ENTIRE page, then the second file will need to be edited by some other means.

Bear in mind that none of what I said may work with a TM template.
