Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove the category icon from the top of the category listings? I managed to remove them from the product listings.

You are using a TemplateMonster template which (sadly) will probably make your life a real misery.
These TM templates may "look nice", but they are so heavily customised (code-wise) that they can make a lot of vital core behaviour extremely difficult to enable.
Additionally, there is a big risk of add-on modules not working properly with TM templates (code conflicts and too many crude hacks), so if you want to add functionality (which most people do), you will be severely limited - unless of course money is no object and you can hire skilled and experienced zencart coders to help you.
Before you make too much progress on this template, consider using one that is more true to the overall schema and protocols of ZC functionality.
Anyway...
Open includes/templates/theme277/css/stylesheet.css and paste this at the bottom of it. Then save, and send the file back to the server.
#categoryImgListing.categoryImg {display: none;}

Thanks schoolboy, ill try that later. The problem is that TM provides a quick way to make a new website look a bit more professional quickly and relatively inexpensively (hence why I decided to use one) TM's support isn't great either.
Thanks again!
If you install a TM template, and add or change NOTHING else, then it will operate adequetely.
But the vast majority of site owners want to add features and functions - some of them are actually very valuable and can make huge differences to your venture's profitability.
So the few minutes you save now (and the relatively low cost) can add up to hours - no, days and possibly weeks - of frustration, and cost a bomb to put right later.
Penny wise - pound foolish.
The general consensus on the forum from those of us who have been around for a while is:
... don't use TM templates.
