Hi I've been searching for tutorial or post on this but can not find any way to do what i need. If someone can help me with a how to do this or point me to a post it would be greatly appreciated.
On my site I sell TV remote controls, i need to offer visitors a way to view the instruction manuals for the remotes i'm selling as well as a previous models. There will be no charge for this and if possible i would like to have this in the documents side box i have already created.

wouldnt you just set up a product as a document and have it set as a free virtual product? that way you can monitor downloads etc etc?
