Auto rotating text content on a page

Hi,

is it possible to have text (short keyword rich topical content articles) rotating on a page in the same way that "new products" does. That is to have a box not unlike the new products box and instead of the contents in that box being new products it can be new useful product(s) information and/or articles relating to the typical products on the site which shows different article(s) each time the page(s) is loaded??

I see this could be a significant SEO advantage in that it is offering the big C to googlebot ... CONTENT ... at a new rate each time the page(s) are spidered. The amount of content on the site may not have changed in total from one scan to the next but individual pages would be returning new and different results, aka fresh content for that given page, just what Google desires and rates highly and ostensibly what Panda is about.

I am not a web developer - I am a fledgling store owner looking for every ounce of white hat SEO advantage possible and an avid believer that Content is still King. Hence my desire is to include as much relevant keyword rich content on every page as is practicable without it turning from a store with products to a book with chapters.

Obviously the product description on the product page is the number one place for such content however there is a limit to how much can be put there without making the page look ugly and turning off the customers. However add to that space some content lower down the page (keywords lower on page = less Google juice but it is still juice otherwise not achieved for ranking) where it has far less ugly effect on the page as far as customer appeal goes, aka new products box2, a topical content box under the new products.

Topical content not restricted specifically to product description. Site is selling aftermarket auto products so some "topical content articles" could be about protecting the bonnet (hood) from road tar (light smear of a silicon based spray so tar won't stick, etc. or how to effectively clean upholstery) - and like in movies these days you add product placement text.

I figure it must be doable - similar code functions to new products but the source being articles (text files) with variable limitations of number of articles to show and characters per article and a rotation schedule from the pool.

Can this be done and what do others think of the idea??

You could probably set up a div on your product info page or main page with php code that pulls randomised article or general content based on a random quote script or banner rotator script, providing your not pulling from the zen database this would be relatively easy to set up and you'll probably be able to find an open source version if your unable to write yourself?
