Text at Top of Search Results

Zen Version 1.3.9h

My SEO guy started a project to add text at the top of search results, customized for that particular search. He finally figured out how to do this. For example, search on "red" and you will see text at the top. The problem is that the rest of my search links need the same treatment. If you search "blue" no text yet so it's not a global thing. I cannot contact him to find out how he did this. I've googled this and check in several folders to try to find the source of that text.

Any clue how/where this was done?

This would have been achieved with some custom coding, and as we can't see the underling code, you will have to try to get hold of the original developer.

... but why do you want to do this on a search results page? These pages are (by default) instructed to have NOINDEX and NOFOLLOW meta data...

... and when I check your search page results source code, the meta robots is doing just that.

Google does not invoke a site search for a specific word or phrase. It is not a human being looking for a specific product, so it cannot "use" your site's search function. search engines will NEVER SEE a search results page - so why go to all this effort?

Trying to "SEO optimise" a search results page is about the most pointless exercise one can do, so you would do well to get hold of the guy who suggested this and ask him to do two things:

1. remove the function - it serves no purpose
2. give you a refund (plus interest).
