uploaded file name changes

I set the file upload attribute to a product.
I am able to upload the file and find the file images/uploads.

But the file I upload is "xyz.jpg". The file in the directory is "1.jpg".

The notification emails show "xyz.jpg" on the

How would I know what the file 1.jpg (or 13.jpg when i gets uploaded) is supposed to be?

The number assigned to the file is the order number.
