Setting up test site

Live site is 1.3.7 and I want to set up a test site that is an exact copy. The plan is to experiment with some changes and to upgrade the test site to the latest version and get it all working etc before we upgrade the live site.

Here is how I updated from 136 to 139.

I downloaded the current version and installed it on my localhost. I copied my template folders into the new install. Everything worked. I then backed up my sql and images folders from the server and performed an restore on the localhost... everything worked.

I then uploaded to the server restored the sql without any issues.

I am sure there is plenty of documentation on the forum to help you and maybe some have done it different
