Users Unable to save edited address info

I am (and have been) using version 1.3.8a The site is in Japanese with JP/En admin.

I recently found out that customers are suddenly not able to edit their address information. They get the edit form, but the information entered does not save.

I've looked for information on my problem throughout this forum and google searches, but have only found one post (closed) where the problem was a conflict with an addon.

I have checked the address book default and process php files against fresh files (winmerge) and there are no differences.

I've replaced all the associated files with fresh ones.....no luck.

The address book and form had been modified for Japanese customers, but was working fine all along until just the last few months.

I AM able to edit and save through admin.

I do know that my hosting has upgraded the server. Would this be a database issue? I'm stumped

I'm sure you have already checked but it's always good to ask - was there anything generated in the cache folder?

Nothing in the cache folder....not logging any errors

Are you using the original zen cart checkout or a modified checkout?

Hi Ksookma,

Using 1.3.8a - using the Japanese localization pack which included address modifications and also changed the form order a little (family name given name).

Also had mods made to the payment module to easier accommodate Japanese payments through PayPal.

It's been a few years and all has been working fine until just the last couple months. I haven't made any changes to the files since 2008.

I can make changes in admin no problem...and have been doing that for customers...but of course that's not the way it should work....

1) Debug logging isn't part of 1.3.8, the cache folder would only have sessions data in it, i am fairly sure you need to install the debugging tool if you have 1.3.8

2) If this only just started, have you noticed any other issues? check with you host as to whether they have mad any changes, eg the version of PHP

3) Check your server logs for errors (you should be able to view these via your host provided control panel, cpanel or plesk or something similar)

Hi Nigel, thanks for the input

I have had the debugging tool installed for a while and activated it a couple times recently trying to figure out this problem....no errors logging in the cachel and no errors showing in the errors log in the cpanel.

Hosting has recomiled php and checked everything on their end...

I've checked all permissions, run winmerge, loaded fresh files

This one has me stumped big time.....
