one day my I am operating fine 24 hrs later poof i start getting this message and I changed nothing....please help!

If you have done nothing then ask your webhost if there have been any changes to the chmod permissions thingie (sorry can't remember the technical term), as some host are changing the default most secure setting so your configure files may not be visible to zencart.

Normally site don't just break, either the host has made changes or updated software.
