Product ID # Help

Is there a way to reset the product id?
I am using zencart v1.3.9g
I was thinking of uninstalling zencart the re installing it but I don't want to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.


This is my first post. I have been trying to figure everything out on my own but I'm stumped on this one.
I have been trying for months to get my site working the way I'd like. During that time I have been deleting the entire database and uploading it again. Every time I did that my product ids would start at then next #.



I would like google to be able to crawl my site efficiently but they are going to pages that no longer exist.

I have almost 4,000 items in my database but less than 400 active as that's what's in stock right now.

Don't do it.

Resetting the productIDs will cause far more problems than it could ever hope to solve.
