    Don't know if it's causing problems, but your background images are not loading for the navMainWrapper and logoWrapper. Could be that it's trying to reserve a spot for them.

    How's about just killing the background-color:silver; around line 186 of the stylesheet. Course, then you only have 63 colors left.
    A little help with colors.

    Background image shouldnt have any effect on the div.

    Just for kicks, I commented the images out and nothing changed.

    Silver is the temporary color for mainWrapper so I could see and eliminate unused and unwanted gaps between the DIVs.

    Then you will need to break out the h3 and the tagline.
    The combination of the sitewide margin-top for h3 and your decision to make tagline 2em is creating the gap.
    Try removing the font-size for tagline and adding
    #tagline h3 {
    margin-top: 0;
    padding-top: 1em;
    font-size: 2em;
    color: #006600;
    }
    adjust as required.

    Glad you got it going.

    No genius involved, just firebug.

    I don't see that on your site now, and the attachment was too fuzzy to tell what it was.
