    Default Logo Size

I am trying to change the size of the logo area so I can fit my logo in there and it doesnt look undersized. I am in no way a computer guru or web designer. Just trying to save a few bucks by fixing the website up myself. So I may be doing the codes wrong but I followed the guide in the tutorial and changed both

    /includes/languages/english/header.php
    /templates/template28172/css/stylesheet.css

I have made changes to both and still find the logo area un-changed.

    http://http://hostilediesel.com/store/

Here is my store, I am using version

    Zen Cart 1.3.9h
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.9h

I would like my logo to be about 3x bigger if possible It is only
    W-200px
    H-58px

I think the image looks kind of small and distorted when I resize it that small. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    -Eric

Your Template Monster template has most likely hard-coded the size for the logo to fit into its "tab". You will need to edit a PHP file to change it - we can't tell you for sure, this being TM, but it ought to be /includes/templates/your_template/common/tpl_header.php.

Failing that, you should ask TM how to fix the standard logo size control that they have broken.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I were to post part of the file would someone be able to point me in the direction that needs to be changed. Im looking at it and cant see where it distinguishes height but I do see where it looks like all of the Header and Logo information is.

    Thanks,
    Eric

You might also check in includes/languages/english/header.php, but I suspect TM has messed that up, too.

Personally, I'm a big fan of small header images, especially in the case of a site like yours where there's also a big banner image under the header. I think the idea should be to get the visitor to the stuff you want them to buy as soon as possible, without any unnecessary scrolling.

The height should be set in /includes/languages/english/header.php; it couldn't hurt to see what you have there related to the logo.

We might be able to tell you how to fix the logo area in tpl_header.php, though that is really TM's job.

Yea I wouldnt mind it being so small, but I would love if I could make the image so it didnt seem so distorted. The graphic designer who did it made it huge, and it looked great. He said I could resize it and it would keep its clarity I guess not though

Okay I can give contacting TM a try, This is probably something better left to someone else to do it!!

I tried changing /includes/languages/english/header.php the height and width with no luck, I might just be putting in the code wrong.

would someone know how to get in touch with TM?, to tell you the truth I just kind of bought the template, I liked it...and I didnt even know who made it

Google their name and I'm sure you will find their website.

How did you resize the logo? Depending on the method, it could get rougher, and there is no way to keep the original clarity with fewer pixels.

I don't understand why anybody buys a non-standard template when there's an extensive selection of very cool free ones designed to Zen Cart standards. It's so much easier to figure things out when the FAQs and tutorials information matches the files.

To be fair, the TM templates are very slick and pretty and highly "designed", more so than most of the free templates. Anyone who thinks flashy billboards and homepage effects are important will find far more of them there than in Free Addons.
