Default Product Expiration Date in Google Feed

Our feed is not reading because we have a user error stating that the date is in the past.

Could someone please explain to me how I would delete that past date or change the date to the future. Our items are not reading at all because of this code:

    <g:expiration_date>2011-08-01</g:expiration_date>

    Thank you in advance!

    Quick-fix...

CTRL+C (copy) your feed file into notepad.

    Use notepad's REPLACE function:

    in FIND field, insert: <g:expiration_date>2011-08-01</g:expiration_date>

    In REPLACE WITH field insert:
    <g:expiration_date>2011-11-01</g:expiration_date>

    Click REPLACE.

SAVE (and overwrite) your old XML file.

At GoogleBase, use MANUAL UPLOAD to find the file on your hard drive, to load the new feed file.

NB: Make sure you meet Google's new taxonomy rules.

You MUST now have an "availability" tag:

    <g:availability>In Stock</g:availability>

Common sense will show you how to ADD this, surely?

    SAME PROCEDURE AS ABOVE...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    in FIND field, insert: <g:expiration_date>2011-08-01</g:expiration_date>

    In REPLACE WITH field insert:
    <g:expiration_date>2011-11-01</g:expiration_date><g:availability>In Stock</g:availability>

It must be accessed using FTP - not cPanel.

It is most likely to be in: feed/google folder

FTP a COPY of your xml file... I don't know what you have called yours... you would have chosen a name in the googlebase configuration in your shop admin panel.

After FTP to your hard drive, you edit it in a PLAIN TEXT EDITOR - such as the freeware CRIMSON EDITOR.

You can click the link that appears in Tools/Google Merchant Center Feeder and download the file from there.
