Default Admin doesn't work using sub folder

I am wanting to test Zencart but I do not have possession of the domain I will use. My idea was to install Zencart in a subfolder of my Wordpress site (www.mysite.com/testsite). When I go to that address it seems to work fine, but when I go to www.mysite.com/testsite/admin it pulls up my wordpress site and displays a page that doesn't exist. Any ideas?

How did you install Zencart ? Did you change the name of the 'admin' folder after installation ?

I used cpanel (fantastico) to install it into a subfolder. I did not rename the admin folder. I also don't see an admin folder unless its in another folder.

That's one of the problems with using an auto-installer. Zencart won't allow you to access the admin unless you change the admin folder name, so Fantastico must have done it for you. The renamed admin folder will be in the root of your store (www .mysite.com/testsite), so you'll need to check the folders there to find out which is admin, and point your browser there.

Thanks Steve. I just figured that out and was about to come back on to say so. Fantastico did rename the admin folder. Everything seems to be working now.

I think the default for fantastico is zc_admin.

Please appreciate that this is still insecure. Hackers know that many people install with fantastico, and will try zc_admin.

Best you re-name it to something less obvious.

Bear in mind that you need to EDIT:

zc_admin/includes/configure.php first, changing the name there too.

After editing, you then re-name the folder.

Thanks for the info. I have indeed modified the configure.php file and changed the folder name. Things seem to be working great.

Thanks again to everyone that helps on this board.
