These options are called "attributes", and they are a core feature of Zen Cart. See this tutorial: How do I add attributes to my products?

If you need something beyond this feature, you will have to be more specific about what kind of features you want so we can advise. That could mean hiring someone to write custom code for you.

That is a very slick javascript module which you would have to hire someone to build for you (or build it yourself if you are proficient in javascript). It would be great to have someone contribute such a thing to Free Addons, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

We investigated something similar to spreadshirt a couple of years ago. It's a flash system, that has the capacity to add a huge array of possible attributes to the product. (We needed to work completely outside of ZC core attribute system).

Client abandoned the idea when it became clear that costs (for a GOOD system) would run into five figures...

It is a Flash Action script, now I know it is an addon for another cart system, but might be worth while contacting to see if it can be ported over to ZC?

using google and the search term 'custom apparel scripts'. One of the top returned resutls has this type of addon for £1500. Their website says their scripts fit Magento, osC, Prestashop, Joomla, WP, Drupal and yes... even Zen Cart. It is Flash Actionscript based and looks smooth.

A fair outlay for an addon, but speculate to accumulate eh?
