What's the difference between the 3 Paypal options?

Hello!

I wanted to configure my store with Paypal payments. And I've noticed that there is 3 Paypal options.

• PayPal Website Payments Standard - IPN

• PayPal Website Payments Pro

• PayPal Express Checkout

I really want to know what's the difference between the 3 options.
Also, is there anyway to "bypass" the Paypal's fees?

Yeah read the tutorial. Basically, one method (Standard/Express) takes your customer to Paypal's website for payment. The other method (Payments Pro) Paypal will actually charge the customer's card behind the scenes, and they do not leave your website. But one method costs more than the other.

The IPN is not a plan but a module for notification about payment processing. IPN = Instant Payment Notification.

Actually, the fees "per transaction" are the same. The only added fee for the Pro method is a monthly fee to allow you to use the gateway for credit card clearing, without having the customer leave your site. And if you get the Pro feature then you also get the "Virtual Terminal" feature in your PayPal account that lets you type in a customer's credit card for manual processing for phone/mail orders, etc, without paying another extra fee for that privilege.

You can safely ignore Payments Standard. It's essentially become vestigial since the introduction of PayPal Express.
