how to edit the shopping cart page?

Hi, i have been trying to solve this problem for quite a while (good 4 months)but no proper solution has been found. this is my site,

as u can see, i have nothing in the home page, so when a customer need to buy something, they have to click on products page. once they add a product to the cart, it goes to the shopping cart page.

now my problem is, normally the shopping cart page doesnt show up the products once a product has been added to the cart. it only shows up ur products which has been added to the cart.
so i had the "all products" page linked up to "products" link.

but my client wants the products to be displayed in 2 or 3 columns. just as what original shooping cart page shows up. i have tried the grid module but it doesn't work with my template. i tried to recreate the shopping cart page but still haven't succeed. does anybody has a solution to this?
if im not wrong, this is one problem which hasnt been solved properly as yet.

If you were trying to do the Grid for Categories you could try:

If you want to do this for the Products All ... you could try:

Perhaps one of those would work for you ...

Be sure to use something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com to merge the files correctly as needed ...

i tried the column layout grid but it didnt work properly, but i never came across three column grid. will try it, and post the results. thanks

Do you mean the behavior that the shopping cart page is displayed after you add an item from the product listing page? Change this in admin > Configuration > My Store > Display Cart After Adding Product.
Why did you think it was necessary to use the All Products page as the Products button link?

By "shopping cart page" here, you mean the product listing page, right? If you use the regular category/product listing as the target for that button, you can use the regular Column Grid mod to display the products. Column Grid does not apply to the All Products page.

Your Template Monster template probably had a lot of non-standard setups and coding originally, and TM templates are notoriously difficult to modify using standard modification techniques.

i tried the "display cart after adding products" option. but it's not the solution i was looking at. the original shopping cart page shows up products when you first go to that page. but once you add a product to the cart, it (shopping cart page) doesnt show up products, it shows the checkout page. by using the "display cart after adding products" option you can avoid happening that. but then, it doens show up the first check out page with the products in your cart where you can add or edit.

yes i regret using a TM template, b'coz i had to do too many customization to build it up to my needs. actually its not a TM template anymore, it is my own version

anyhow, i tried the "3 column grid", http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1381. and it works fine with my template. still if one doesn't like the output of that solution, you can edit the stylesheet or modify the looks from the admin panel.

I'm glad you got to a point you like... since we didn't see the original template's functionality, it is hard to know what you meant by your descriptions of what it originally did (sounds non-standard). Anyway, good luck with it.
