    red flag Order confirmation e-mail garbled/missing text occasionally!

    Hi,

    I've been searching in this forum and haven't found anyone raising this problem.

    When I receive an order, the e-mail confirmation that is sent out has garbled/missing text! This doesn't happen all the time though.. which makes it odd!

    Sometimes, the whole thing comes out fine. At times, it looks like this:

    As you can see, they Products list is not full. The subtotal, total etc is missing, and so is the payment info.

    I've been testing this for a period of 1 week and I still get this problem occasionally. How should I start fixing? Who/what is responsible for causing this problem?

    We need more information - What version of Zen Cart? Plain text or HTML emails? Is this happening after a certain product is checked out? What method of email transport? What email address is this happening to?

    Plain text or HTML emails? Plain text.

    Is this happening after a certain product is checked out? Yes. I've only been able to test using the 'Direct Bank Transfer' payment method (Add on: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=151),

    The confirmation e-mail is sent once customers reach the 'Thank You For Purchase' confirmation page.

    What method of email transport? I haven't made any changes to the default setting. It is: PHP

    What email address is this happening to? So far all types of e-mail -- whether the mail is being sent to Gmail or company e-mail addresses. 2 confirmation e-mails are usually sent out for 1 order -- 1 e-mail to the customer, 1 e-mail to me (the seller). Both emails are garbled.

    Once again, this happens about 60% of the time. After giving it enough tries, the email sends out totally fine.

    I've tested by purchasing 1 product or a few products -- it's the same. They have the potential to send out garbled e-mails.

    Does it always happen where there's a < in the product title?

    Hi DrByte,

    Not necessarily. I've tested with the same product many times -- sometimes the e-mail is garbled, sometimes not.

    Help me with what exactly I need to do to consistently recreate the same symptoms on a brand new site.
