credit card troubles ZC please help

(unable to find a specific or similar thread to my issue here, please pardon if indeed specific I am unable to find such after much effort looking.

using ZC version 1.3.9h http://www.bodytempleherbalproduct.com/
hosting company: 1and1.com / I did not test everything before going live. now its live. specific customizations: index.php page has javascript slideshow. seems to be fine. other than that its pretty much stock utiliing BaskBlack template, with slight modifications— permissions are 666. cant figure whats wrong.

i ran the "cURL test" - it reports OK.
a SSL dedicated active / working cert for http://www. bodytempleherbalproduct.com. seems to be fine = non issue here i believe.

When entering in fake CC number the expected result happens, which is having that fake cc card # declined when making a real attempt on test purchase—$1.04 gives this error— "An error occurred when we tried to contact the payment processor. Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. () - (5) Couldn't resolve proxy "libcurl".

So, This same error message 5 is the result --for both a PayPal purchase attempt, and when also using a real legitimate credit card number. Very frustrating— for days now trying to figure out where i went wrong. It seems as if ZenCart settings, database or something in zen cart is causing these errors. Can anyone please offer any advice or suggestions, i am about to ditch entire zen cart—will reinstall from scratch and that is a frightening scenerio here for me since it took months to figure this zen cart stuff out—I am on the verge of nervous breakdown, I thought i was doing it properly, probably my error or novice level of comprehension. Thanks here in advance if anyone can help.

(5) Couldn't resolve proxy "libcurl".

That's a communications error which is telling you that your server has a configuration problem. Your hosting company generally needs to be involved to fix any communication errors.

First, check under Admin->Configuration->My Store->CURL Proxy Status, and make sure it's OFF.

Next, get your hosting company to figure out why CURL cannot connect properly to external services.
