    Default Customer authorization for product browsing

    Under customer approval status we would like for our users to be required to sign up to browse but we would like for the home page to be viewed in it's entirety. Currently when the option is set to 1

    Code:
    Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending
    Customer must be Authorized to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must be Authorized to Browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless Authorized
    3= Customer May Browse and May see Prices but Must be Authorized to Buy
    It causes the home page to have a login sheet displayed where we would like for them to see a slide show and home page.

    is there anyway to allow this?
    we do not want our customers to view the products without being logged in!

    Thanks for any help!

    There's no way I know to do that in Zencart. You could place your slideshow and other stuff you want to allow visitors to see in a separate HTML page, include a link to your Zencart main page and save it as index.html in your Zencart root directory.

    Just my opinion, but unless there's something extra-special about your products, I would reconsider this idea. I would never create an account just to be able to view a site's wares.

    Thanks Stevesh, I had found a thread that says it can be done on an EZ-Page, I am not familiar with them yet. SO I will look into in and see if that helps. If you have any input on EZ-Pages, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Jessica
