Default New test installation issues with Existing template

I just installed ZC 1.5, a fresh installation in a new directory, new database, fresh, nothing added, then I simply copied my store's template which is working perfectly under 1.3.8a, and 1.3.9h, and SNAP, it didn't even load! I checked the source code and it barely reached pass the header ... so may be is one of the add ons, the old template has, that's causing problems, don't know, so my question is where in the template directory, are the add ons modifications normally located?

There's no 'normal' location for mod files. They can be almost anywhere, including outside the template directories, depending on the mod.

Are there any error logs in your /cache folder ?

    Excellent tip!
I didn't know the cache director had error info! I thought it was to cache the files to make it load faster ...

After I went there I found couple errors and fix them.
However it still not displaying the way it should ... but that was great tip! Thanks!

Any other places I can look for errors?

For some unknown reason the CSS file is not doing any html5 and webkit, -moz changes I made ... it looks plain ...

Part of upgrading is applying all the changes made in the default template into your own template.
WinMerge is a handy tool for that process.

Well, in my case it was just a matter of finding out, I was selecting the WRONG template ...

However, I still need to do minor CSS changes to make it look like the old one ...

I use Winmerge, and frankly sometimes it has a nasty bug, in where two files are marked as 100% different ... while there is only a minor difference, I experienced this issue in several occasions therefore I decided to manually check the code and see what it does, rather than counting solely on differences ...

but as I said in this case it was a matter of being too tired and selected the wrong template!

If WinMerge is telling you the entire file is different, then the file has likely had its line-endings changed ... which is often a result of FTP settings breaking things. You can sort that out in your FTP software or using their tech support.
