Salemaker woes--I am confused

The idea--if I understand it right---

go to salemaker
give it a name
percent or $$ off
how to apply it
date start and end then
click entire store for all

The above works great IF it is a store wide sale.

I can also do this for individual vendors so happy so far.

Unfortunately when I set a sale for an individual category -- maybe it will take, maybe not and heaven help me if I want to put a nestled category on sale cause it won't work at all. Prices show at regular with no sale price at all.

I have included screenshots of both the salemaker section and the products area of my admin.

Am I misunderstanding that you SHOULD be able to set a sale for individual parts of the store? If I am correct then what could I possibly be doing wrong.

BTW, I tried placing the settings to all listed in that drop down menu and the sale still will not show.

SaleMaker works based on the Product's master_categories_id ...

If the Product does not use the master_categories_id of the Category on Sale, then it will not be on Sale ...

Edit the Product and see if the Master Category is within the Categories that you have marked on Sale ...

I was afraid you were gonna say that.

master cat id's are the actual individual vendors names. They rule the roost I should say...lol

but products are in each vendors nook with vendor as master id. The drop down menu for product master category has as the main one the vendors id then there is also the linked to cats listed.

like one vendors item is textures for a toons clothing

her drop down menu reads:
master--her vendor name/id
then there is listed below that:
invalid master category id
fantasy with id#
toon clothing textures with id #

yet if I choose toon clothing textures in salemaker it won't take the sale info at all
