    Default Editing Main Page content

Hi. I'm a newbie to Zen Cart and am attempting to edit the content of the home page. Does Zen Cart not use a WYSIWYG type of text editor? Does the content have to be edited using HTML code?

The Tools->Define Page Editor->define_main_page.php opens what appears to be a text editor. I can enter text but can't change the font type/size, etc. Also, on my main page its still displaying "Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution" which I need to remove.

I am NOT familiar with HTML code at all and really need a simple text editor. What can I do?

The old, buggy HTMLArea editor was removed from the latest version. This is considered the best of the replacements:

Thanks. Do I upload the update directly to the public_html directory or is there a specific folder that it must be uploaded to?

There will be a readme file inside the mod's zip that will give installation instructions. As it is done by Kuroi, I would expect it to be clear and accurate.
Most mods are built to be uploaded directly to the Zen Cart root (/public_html/ or whatever it is on your system).

I replaced the admin & editor files with the downloaded files but I am seeing no changes in how the editor functions - I can enter text that updates my main page but I cannot change the font size, type, etc.

There's a dropdown that toggles Plain Text and the editor - what's that set to ?

I set the default to HTMLarea but setting it to text or HTMLarea changes nothing - I can add text but cannot change the font size/type...I'm expecting to be able to edit the page like we can edit our posts in the forum.

Also...I have no idea how to get rid of the message on the home page which says, ""Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution" as it does not show up on the home page editor

Which different browsers have you tried ?

Your second question is answered in the FAQ/Tutorials section.
