I am having a very weird issue with ZenCart 1.3.9h. I've currently tried two different hosts (godaddy and hostgator shared hosting) and I am still experiencing the same issue.. Also these are fresh installations with no added mods or themes.
Whenever working in the admin backend and I begin doing things too fast, i.e. disabling product categories... after disabling about 5 or 6 categories my entire site goes down. And its not limited to just product categories, anything I try to do in the admin backend, if its done too quickly.. the site will hang. When I say entire site I mean all of my websites, not just my zencart alone. It takes about 10 minutes for everything to come back up.
I am not sure if this is a host issue, since I have tried two hosts so far, or if this is some kind of Zen-Cart issue where I have to disable or enable an option.
Any suggestions?

Sounds more like a browser issue. Try a different one and see if you can recreate the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried using google chrome to enable/disable product categories (at lightning speed) and no issue at all, been at it for a few minutes...
However here is where it gets weird
I now went back to Explorer (version 9.0) and tried enabling/disabling and after a few attempts the site hangs and become unaccessable.
I then went back to google chrome to see if its just unaccessable through IE, but I am also not able to access the site through google chrome (so the site is actually down across the board).
So what the heck? Any ideas? Maybe a bug in IE causing Zen to trip and therefore affecting the server its on?

Sounds like a database connection issue. Are you doing some kind of testing; disabling so much so quickly?

You should contact your hosting company to find out what exactly the server is doing during those 10 minutes when the site is unresponsive. That should give them clues to help you find out why it's causing the server to misbehave.

It cant be a database connection issue because all sites (zencart related or otherwise) goes down.
