products displayed across

hi all,

I am trying to figure out how i display my products across the page instead of down.

I would like them to be displayed Image with product name underneath image and with the price below that... ie

imagepic
productname
£2.99

and i would like to have them 4 across the page by how every many products going down. so 16 products would give you 4 across by 4 down.
8 products would give you 4 across and an additional line of 4 underneath...

any help would be great
