stylesheets

I am new to zen cart and am having a difficult time with changing simple things like color. I have been making changes in /include/templates/custom/css/stylesheet.css.

Most of my changes do not show so I assume they are over-ridden by other files in other areas. Is their an FAQ about the hierarchy of changes?

Let's see your site live - it makes our answers much more accurate and easy to give.
If by /custom/ you mean the actual foldername of your custom template, that is the principal controller for styling... unless you have a commercial template, some of which include other stylesheets that supersede stylesheet.css.
