How many attributes per product?

I am using current version on zen cart. I wanted to know if there was a certain number of attributes a person could use per product. Right now I have one on some products and will be adding a second attribute to a few of those products that have one attribute now.

You can add as many as you need, then depending on your server, you may or may not see speed affects based on high quantities ...

Thanks for the reply. These are mainly informational boxes for the customer to state the height of a table in inches and the other is for them to tell us if they want the item assembled and sent or to be unassembled and sent. The unassembled product will save any where from $20 to $90 depending on what part of the USA they live. We are trying to cut costs for the customer and have a product that will satisfy their needs.

Will these print out on the orders (invoices)? I haven't gotten that far yet to try it out. Thought I'd ask while I was replying.

Have you tried making a Product with these Attributes and testing out an Order to see specifically what you are going to get? Surprises of testing by the customer really really ...

I tried an order and it comes through on order confirmation email and on invoice. Once I get FedEx shipping module up, I will need to add weight and size of pkg. These are already known values as I just shipped 6 products in three packages and saved the customer over $200 in shipping costs.

You would create the height as either a text input (if the customer can specify anything they like) or a dropdown or radiobuttons if there are only certain possible numbers. If the height affects the price, you need to use dropdown or radiobuttlons so you can give a price differential for the various heights. The height options could have weights attached, so a larger item which costs more to pack and ship can be accounted for. The assembly option could be a checkbox with a price attached. You could also use dropdown/radiobuttons with the choices of assembled and not assembled, giving a price addition for assembled or a subtraction for not assembled, depending on how you want to present it. Likewise, if unassembled is cheaper to pack and ship, you could give that a weight subtraction.
