Free download documentation for a product

Yes, I have searched the forums and the FAQs.

I sell a number of pieces of technical equipment, and quite often potential customers want to download the manual BEFORE they buy the product. On other shopping cart systems I have seen that products often have a "documentation" link on the product page that points at (for example) a pdf.
I have not been able to determine how to do the same within ZenCart. Is it possible?

The easiest way would be to code a download link into the product's description, I think.
