Hi everyone.
I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find anything useful.
So my situation is as follows. I've got a zencart store with very outdated product listings. It would be way too much work to check everything manually so I'd rather wipe everything and start over, BUT I spent quite some time setting up all the categories, descriptions, images etc and I don't want to lose this.
Everywhere I look I find that wiping product data by emptying some tables is quite complex and can leave remants that might cause trouble later. So apparently it is suggested to delete all the categories which would remove the products within them.
What if I backed up my categories and categories_description tables with PHPMyAdmin and then deleted all the categories as advised in order to get rid of the products. And then I import the back up of the categories again and proceed to add the new products to the old categories. Would this then recreate the category structure exactly as it was before I deleted everything or am I missing some tables that are also relevant?
Thanks for your help!
Laura
