Can I reduce the number of pages in checkout process?

I,ve been testing my store in V1.3.9 and the checkout process has WAY to many pages for a customer to go through. Add to that are the pages for processing through paypal and I can see my customers giving up...or maybe they just fell asleep.

Please tell me you can combine all this down to no more that 3 pages????

I haven't used it, but I don't see the Zencart checkout process as all that onerous. There's a lot you can do in the template files and stylesheet to make the various checkout pages cleaner and simpler.

To make the process crystal clear and let people see where they are, you could add the Order Steps Tableless mod which gives a progress bar at the top of checkout. Just knowing where you are in a process that is going to actually be the same amount of typing no matter what "shortening" mod you use may help.
