I'm having an intermittent problem where customers are allowed to buy more items than are in stock. It's happened maybe half a dozen times in the last month, but my client and the fulfillment company are so upset about it they are ready to move to another shopping cart system.
My client has many one-of-a-kind items that she finds in flea markets or estate sales. Customers occasionally try to buy several of the same item, but instead of getting an error message, their order goes through. Which necessitates an embarrassing phone call to the customer to explain there aren't that many of the item in stock.
It appears to be intermittent. I have tried to duplicate the problem, but get the error message ("***item must be restocked" or something like that) as expected.
Running version 1.39h. I just upgraded from 1.39d to h last week, hoping this might fix the problem. The only add-ons used are Sales Report and Email Export. I have seen reports of problems with Stock By Attributes, but my client isn't using attributes. I'd appreciate any ideas, especially before my client makes me move to a whole new shopping cart.
