Manually adding links to header

Hi,

Are there any drawbacks in manually adding category links to the header file? We need to add quite a lot of customized links for our main nav.

When you add a category in the admin it should automatically be added to the menu.

Yes but we wont be using the categories tab.
We will be using a customized drop down menu and most links will be manually added.

The drawback is that each link is manually added. The advantage is that each link is manually added. If you want to handle each and every category link yourself, you can modify the categories dropdown menu (originally by jettrue) from Free Addons by adding new submenus and disabling the dynamic categories menu.
