Default Moving existing stores to new server

    Hi
I have to move several zencarts to a new vps... I am planning to put the shops into maintenance then set up the hosting on the new server using the same passwords, database name etc... I then plan to export the database sql and import on to the new server... Upload the existing files via ftp onto the new server and then change the DNS . The paths are the same as the hosting company is same just upgrading to new server. I understand that this approach does not exactly follow the guidelines but will it work, or I have missed something? Appreciate any advice thanks
