    Default Adding Links

Hey guys just wandering how i add a custom link to the navigation on this site http://1036835857.9350300.temp.prosi...ain_page=index

Next to the text link for 'Join our network' i want to add 'More information' and link it to the 'Contact us' page, any ideas or suggestions would be superb! :)

    Many thanks
    Eddy

A better way to do what you're trying to do there would be to use EZ pages activated in the header to point to the various categories and the other places you want to link to, rather than the header category tabs.

I suppose it's possible to have a category name link to another page, but it would be a lot more work than the above.

Thanks for the reply, i have tried adding a page with the EZ-Pages controller but i had no luck, as the link i added didnt show up and as far as i know EZ-Pages are set up for the header and i did place the link in the header as well.

Thanks again for the reply, do you have any other suggestions?

I'll stick with my original suggestion. It sounds like you may have not given the EZ page you created a sort number in the header box.

I would also turn off the category header tabs (while you're testing EZ pages) in Admin - Configuration - Layiout Settings.

THanks again for your suggestions, really appreciate it :)

I have tried all you suggested and have turned off the category tabs as well, but still no luck, i have given the ez-page a sort order number as well, i have tried 1-5 with no luck on any of them lol

This is turning out to be a little more complex than i thought! :)

Any more suggestions are most welcomed.

    Many many thanks

It's not complex; you just need to exactly follow the directions for creating ez-pages and displaying their links.
Describe precisely all the steps you took to make your ez-page, and we may be able to tell you what you missed (or you might see it for yourself). Seeing the site live may also help.

I can assure you that EZ pages work - I've used them on most sites.

There are only two things I know of that would make EZ page links not display:

    No sort order
    No title

What happens if you activate them in the footer and/or sidebox ?

What happens if you switch temporarily to the Classic template ?

    Thanks for the reply :)

The link to the site is http://1036835857.9350300.temp.prosi...ain_page=index

I am going Admin - Tools - EZ Pages then adding a new file

Giving it a page title (More Information in this case)
Activating it in the header (Clicking Yes in header)
Turning all the others off, since i dont want the page to be displayed on other parts (footer/sidebox etc)
Giving it the page order or 1-5 (i have tried 1,2,3,4,5)
I am using an internal link so i add that as well at the bottom then click 'Update' and nothing happens! :)

I have not tried it with the default template, but the fact of the matter is i dont want to use it with the default template, and would like to use it with the custom template that is on the site

Any more advice would be superb!

    Many thanks

When you say the sort order is 1-5, you mean you have used each of those numbers as the sort order and not '1-5', right ? Sort order values are integers.

When you say 'nothing happens', you mean the links don't appear, or the EZ page isn't saved ?

I suggested switching to Classic as a diagnostic tool. If the links appear in that template, then we've narrowed the problem down to your custom template.
