Shopping cart bailing out after new account creation

Hi everyone:
I've inherited a zen-cart based website, and have a problem I'm hoping you can help with. The site is located at http://www.nothingnaughtynaturals.com

The problem is that when an item is added to the cart, then clicks checkout, and the user creates a new account, they are returned to the homepage, and must click "checkout" again to continue.

I've looked at some "showcase" shops and notice that they do not have this behaviour: the user is sent directly to "Step 1 of 3" from the account creation, instead of returning to the homepage and having to click "checkout" again.

This makes me think that one of the files has probably been buggered up, which makes me sad because it is probably going to be a pain to track down.

Could anyone point to where I might start looking for a cure?

I'm new to zen cart but not so new to web development, and though I'm not a PHP ubergeek, I'm pretty comfy with rooting around in files and making changes.

Hi: Still hoping for some help with this problem.

I had another piece of information: I installed the "bypass create account success" code, and suddenly, the create account success screen was displayed (it never was before). http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175768

I suspect that there is some code in the site that redirects from the create account FORM to the create account SUCCESS page that has been altered/removed. Any ideas where that might be?

Another update: switching to the default template does not solve the problem.

In truth, I believe that what is missing is the redirect to the create account success page.

Still looking for the spot where this redirect happens.
