    Default Problem with ssl

    Hello!

I recently updated Zen-Cart from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9h and now my ssl is not longer working correctly. It seems it was turned off somehow. When I go to includes/configure.php I see that // Use secure webserver for checkout procedure? define ('ENABLE_SSL', ... is set to false. I change this to true but when I try to save I get the following error message... Could not open /home/****/public_html/includes/configure.php for writing: Permission denied. My permission were set to 777 while attempting this. Thanks for any help.

Oh, I tried going to https://myurl and it does work.

You only need to double check your work. Confirm you settings / changes using File Mgr. within cPanel.

Also make the same changes to: yourAdmin_dir/includes/configure.php

    Thanks for the reply Rob!

I have tried multiple times but still get the same error message.

Also, I noticed that if I leave file manager and then go back the permissions change to 444 automatically...any idea? Thanks!

I'm not sure what you have tried but using File Mgr. for each config file, you can change permissions to 644, then open the file and confirm/change SSL setting to 'true' - Save Changes - then change permissions back to 444.

This seems to be a permissions issue (CHMOD), and we have experienced this on occasion. This is what we do.

    1. Log into Cpanel, navigate to the relevant file and use Cpanel to chmod to at least 644.

    2. Connect to the server via FTP (we use WS-FTP-Professional), and make sure chmod is indeed 644.

    3. Then we edit via FTP, using Crimson Editor. Save file.

    4. Then we go back to Cpanel and change CHMOD to 444.

Thanks schoolboy! That was driving me nuts...

Any idea why I would be having the permission problem?
